Hello from Coach Deb!

Hello KMS Freestyle, KSC/KMS Freestyle and PSI Bandit Ramp Campers!

I trust everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer, of ramp camp, of Australia....

Congrats to everyone on a fantastic summer of training. A great big thanks to Coaches DJ, Matt and Sam for all of their hard work and commitment to our athletes this summer!

If you have not spent enough time on dry land training, then make a pact with yourself to do so. The KMS September Dryland Calendar will be in your mailboxes in a day or so. KSC/KMS athletes: if you need a copy re-sent to you of your program that was sent in the spring - please let me know!

There was some discussion about holding our equipment fit weekend in conjunction with KMS Alpine on Labor Day Weekend. After much discussion with our ski shop partners and some of you, we will maintain our regular program and do ours in conjunction with the Columbus Day Weekend festivities.

Planning for our Columbus Day Weekend festivities in conjunction with the KSC Ski Sale are in the making, but put the weekend on your schedule as one not to miss! Coach DJ will be sending out his annual equipment review prior to your arrival for the weekend.

October 4th will be our first Sunday of dryland training at KMS. Any member of our program is more than welcome to join us. More info out later. Sunday training for everyone will continue until October 25th as we start KMS that next weekend. After October 25th the dry land training is limited to full time and A team members.

PSI BANDIT RAMP CAMPS in September: I am sending in the rosters for the camps this Monday. I have deleted anyone's name that has not paid yet from the website. If you intend to come still, please send me an email and send payment STAT to our mail service in Seattle. You will have to find your own lodging if you do not follow these instructions, and, most likely, the camp will be closed due to numbers.

Safe travels to our Australian campers en route home!

Train hard!
Coach Deb

Great Day

Powder skiing in August who would believe it. The winds kept off of the course, but we were still able to ski all day on the front side t-bars. The skiing was epic tight shoots, big drops and soft snow. Even with all the crazy weather this year we have only lost 1 day of training when the whole mountain was shut down due to a hurricane. To bad the big guys went to SA and didn't stay in AUS as it has been great training with minimal down time compared to what they are dealing with over there. It looks like our last two days on Toppas will be epic!

Summer Ramp Camp 3 Wrap Up

Even though summer hasn't hit most of the eastern United States, it hit Lake Placid NY last week. With temps mostly in the 80's and sun blazing. Coach DJ has pulled ahead in the tan competition and the competition doesn't seem to stand a chance. The group was a little smaller this week with only 12 athletes. We got a ton of jumps in, and got a lot of work done on the trampolines. A few athletes started to work on some new tricks to throw in their bag, and the others worked tricks that were already in their bag. Once again a very productive camp!!!! Nice work everyone!!!!

Nick Marino - Nick has probably done more backflips this summer that anyone else. Determined to get it qualified he hit the century mark (100 flips) just in this camp, thats a lot of flips in four days and thats not even counting the other jumps he did. Nick is focusing on staying in the front of his boots on take off, and maintaining a locked out position in his back layout.

Anthony Belardi - Anthony has been working really hard on his flip as well. Anthony's biggest focus is keeping his head throughout his flip. Anthony has been going huge and has a great take off. After doing a ton of flips he finished the camp with a few cork 7 attempts which were pretty sick. Anthony's tramp skills are developing very nicely with some big corks, nice flips, and working on his flat spins.

Sterling Crescimanno - Sterling came to camp for a few days to work on some back flip take offs and continue his cork 7. In Sterling back flip he is trying not to juice his take off and hold a nice long spot out in the flip. With his cork he trying to keep a neutral head position to keep his axis flatter.

Max Esformes - Max is one of the athletes who stayed over from the previous camp. Last week Max did a lot of spins and front flips, this week back flips, flat spins, and rodeos. In Max's flatspins and rodeos he is working on finishing his takeoff to get nice lift on take off. In Max's back flip, a patient take off and a nice kick out to the pool. Max is working on back tucks right now to develop a powerful takeoff. He did do a few back layouts and is progressing nicely.

Kat Dimascio - Kat worked on big spins this week. Big flat 3's, 720's, and 3's with X's and grabs. Kat spent a lot of time on the tramp working on back flips with and without the throw pad. Kat's spins were looking great and can't wait to see them on snow.

Matt Remes - Matty is the new addition this camp to the PSI family. It didn't take long for Matty to start hitting the big jump and going to work. He spent some time building his takeoff up, and then got to business with spins. Matty worked on 3's and then started stomping some awesome 720's. On the tramp he worked on learning a back flip which didn't take long, and even got a few attempts on the ramp. On Matty's second jump he got his flip around, Nice work Matty!!!!

John Lanka - John is our other athlete who stayed over from the previous camp. John also was working on spins and front flips last week. This camp John got to work on his backflip. John worked very hard on the tramp working on his takeoff, and it showed right when he got on the ramp. John has great take off and is working on keeping his head in through most of the flip. John also had a few misty attempts that were pretty sick.

Allison Benedict - Allison after getting her back layout going on snow in Whistler came to camp with a few focuses. She worked on keeping her hand up until flat back, and even pressure coming up the ramp to prevent a drift. On the tramp we worked a lot on back layouts, back tucks, back pikes, and progressions for fulls. After two days Allison started doing fulls on the tramp, and took it to the ramp for her last few jumps. For her first three fulls they looked great.

Dan Sullivan - Dan decided to concentrate on his backflip this camp. He worked really hard on the timing of his take off. We are working on back tucks right now to finish the development of Dan's takeoff. On the tramp Dan is working on Cork 7's, and other off axis tricks.

Dom Imbarrato - Dom did a ton of back layouts this week, a ton. Dom has great position in the air and isn't afraid to take his flip up. Dom's main focus for the first few days was keeping his head tucked in on take off to prevent and arch. The second two days he focused on his arm position on take off. With the four days of work Dom showed a lot of improvement in his flip. Dom also started doing some big back X's which were dirty.

Ryan Brewster - Ryan was the hardest worker at the camp. Ryan is battling some crookedness in his flip. As frustrating a things got for Ryan it never stopped him from getting this figured out. Ryan worked a lot on even take offs on the tramp and staying square. Ryan had some pretty nice flips toward the end of the camp, and with a few weeks off and the camps he is signed up for in the fall we know he will get it done.

Darius Baradaran - Darius has become quite the back layout artist. His big back layouts are pretty sweet to watch on and off the snow. He is still working on a couple things such as keeping his shoulders more forward on take off, and keeping his hands up to flat back. Those skills will help Darius in developing his backfull which he has already begun. Darius's fulls are just as big as his back layouts and are becoming pretty smooth. Darius is building consistency in the back full, and having patient arms drops and not letting his arms drop at the same time. Darius worked very hard on the tramp to develop some backfull skills which will help him on the ramp.

Great job everyone!!!! Your jumps are looking awesome, looking forward to seeing you all in August and in the fall.
